Door peephole privacy cover

Door in my apartment had no privacy cover, so I made one. Designed with a print-in-place hinge, snap-fit (you can also use double-sided tape to attach it to the door, but on mine it fits snug without it).

I exported it with different sizes, you can scale it in your slicer or use step file / original onshape link to customize it to your size.

If you have no idea how to do it — message me, I will export the model to fit your specific size.

Printing

I recommend printing with some material that can cool down fast because hinge design involves multiple bridges, so PLA would work best and PETG might create issues on a poorly tuned printer.

I have printed it with default 'High Quality (0.16mm layer height)' profile on Bambu Labs P1S with black eSUN PLA+ using 0.4mm nozzle.

0.2mm layer should be fine as well — but I have not tested it. Model is relatively small, so it should not take you too long to just print it with smaller layers and better overall quality.

Customization

Model is created in Onshape, link: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/ffbda56b228856266e12f89a/w/6d63b5dcf9a4bcfccc8c1077/e/155b9ecbf638a84800aa4b3c

I also attached exported STEP file, but to be honest I have no idea/nor suggestions how to edit it.

All parameters are well tuned to work together, the main variable you might want to change is Peephole_outer_diameter.

This is the outer diameter of your door peephole/viewer, measure it with caliper as shown on the photo (you might want to add small offset, depending on your printer tolerances and material you are using):
