Kitchen sink sponge holder

Kitchen sink sponge holder — rotating faucet-mounted tray

This is a rotating sponge tray that mounts to the faucet base so your sponge can drain directly into the sink, dry quickly, and stay out of the way-but still within easy reach.

Rotating mount: The tray attaches to a ring around the faucet base and can be rotated so it sits over the sink or off to the side, while still draining into the basin.

Sloped drain tray: The inside bottom is angled toward the front, where two corner drain holes let water runoff into the sink.

Interlocking wedge mount: The tray connects to the faucet ring using an interlocking wedge that can be easily disconnected for cleaning.

You can either:

Print the full model (tray + wedge mount):

Print the tray with minimal supports (use line supports with minimal contact) for the base.

The faucet ring prints cleanly with no supports.

When assembling, make sure the interlocking wedge pieces are oriented correctly so they lock securely.

Print the tray only (no wedge):

Omit the interlocking wedge and create your own attachment method to your faucet or soap holder.

The interlocking wedge is also available as a separate STL: www.tinkercad.com/things/0ukPjLwZVjw-interlocking-wedge

You may want to modify the faucet ring to fit your specific faucet or soap holder diameter-it's just a simple ring with a hole, so it's very easy to resize or redesign.

I used Cura and Sovol 06 printer

Cura + a Sovol SV06 is a solid combo for this kind of functional print. Since you're dealing with a rotating tray, angled surfaces, and a detachable wedge, here's a dialed‑in set of slicer recommendations that should give you a clean, sturdy result without overdoing supports.

Recommended Cura Settings for the Sponge Holder (SV06)

Print Orientation

· Tray:

o Print it upright, exactly as it sits in use.

o This keeps the slanted interior surface clean and ensures the drain holes print sharply.

· Interlocking wedge:

o Print flat on its largest face for maximum strength.

· Faucet ring:

o Print flat, no supports needed.

Supports (minimal, as you wanted)

· Support type: Lines

· Support density: 10-12%

· Support overhang angle: 55-60°

· Support interface: Off (keeps contact minimal)

· Support Z‑distance: 0.25 mm (for PLA)

This gives just enough structure under the tray's underside lip without fusing supports to the print.

Layer & Wall Settings

· Layer height: 0.20 mm (good balance of detail + speed)

· Walls: 3 walls (strength for the wedge connection)

· Top/bottom layers: 4-5

Infill

· Infill density: 15-20%

· Pattern: Gyroid or Cubic

· Strong enough to handle the weight of a wet sponge without wasting filament.

Material Settings (PLA recommended)

· Nozzle temp: 205-210°C

· Bed temp: 60°C

· Cooling: 100% after layer 3

PLA is perfect here since it won't be exposed to high heat.

Interlocking Wedge Fit Tips

· Print the wedge at 100% scale first — most people get a good friction fit on the SV06.

· If it's too tight:

o Scale the male wedge to 99% in X/Y only.

· If it's too loose:

o Scale the female wedge to 99% in X/Y.

The SV06 is pretty dimensionally accurate, so you shouldn't need much tweaking.
