Drawer Knob with Rotating Handle - M4 Nut Insert + M3 Pivot
A functional and elegant drawer knob with a rotating D-ring handle, inspired by traditional ring pull hardware. Two printed parts — base and handle. The handle rotates freely and lies flat when not in use.
Hardware required:
1× M4 nut (inserted during print). The M4 hex pocket fits both a standard M4 nut and an M4 nylon self-locking nut — use whichever you have on hand.
1× M3×16 DIN 912 socket head screw (pivot)
1× M3 nylon self-locking nut (pivot)
Printing:
When slicing, add a pause at the layer at ~7.6 mm to insert the M4 nut.
Print both parts flat-side down, no supports needed. Use 3+ perimeters and 20%+ infill for strength.
When the print pauses, drop the M4 nut into the hexagonal pocket and resume printing.
Assembly:
Place the handle onto the base, aligning the pivot hole.
Insert the M3×16 screw through the handle and base pivot boss.
Thread on the M3 nylon locknut and tighten fully, then back off ½ turn — this ensures the handle pivots freely while the nylon nut prevents it from loosening over time.
Mount to your drawer using an M4 screw from inside the drawer front, threading into the embedded nut.
