915Mhz MeshCore Bandpass filter case

I purchased a inexpensive cavity bandpass filter off AliExpress for my MeshCore repeater. The idea location to place it is as close to the antenna as possible but that required mounting it outside and on my tower. I needed a waterproof case that would protect it and allow it ot be mounted to a pole.

This is a waterproof case that will holds a CallBoost 915Mhz cavity bandpass filter that I purchased from AliExpress. This case should also work with the 868Mhz version of this filter as they are physically the same size. Just to note, I was very surprised at the performance of this filter, it is quite good for the price.

I anded up making two versions of the case. One that allowed the antenna to be connected to the top and another with the antenna connection on the side. This allows it to be mounted to either a vertical or horizontal on a mast or pipe and keep the antenna oriented virtically.

Printing the Case.

I used PETG but the design should work with any filament. ASA might be better for outdoors if you have an enclosed printer that is capable of it. The seal fits between the lid and the case to provide a good tight seal to help make the case water tight. The seal should be printed in a flexable filament. I used FilaFlex40 by Filatech but any flexable filament can be used. The case will work fine without the seal but it will not be as water tight.

Building the case.

I used M3 and M4 Heat Set inserts to give it more strength and a better fit. I can redo the design with out the heat set insets if there is some interest.
