This case is for the GPS-less Heltec V4 (ESP32-S3 WiFi LoRa 32 V4),

powered by a single 26650 Li-ion cell rather than the 18650 most other

Heltec V4 cases assume. If you're running a node off a bigger cell for longer runtime and haven't found a case sized for it, this is that case.

What it fits

— Heltec V4 board, GPS-less variant, with both tactile buttons (PRG and RST) actuated through the plate via a separately-printed bridge piece — no need to reach in with a toothpick.

— One 26650 cell, running the full length of the case underneath the board, dropped in vertically through a rectangular shaft and cradled on a half-round bore.

— An external antenna on an IPEX-to-SMA pigtail, panel-mounted through a bulkhead hole in the plate's own end wall, so the pigtail run and strain stay predictable no matter how the parting line shifts.

— A USB-C cable, through a pill-shaped cutout with its own recessed, walled-off well so a normal cable plug seats fully, not just the bare connector opening.

Construction

— Two-part shell — a base (pure battery tub, no board features) and a face plate (carries the board, display cutout, buttons, and SMA mount) — split along a horizontal line just above the cell.

— Closed with four M2 socket-head cap screws (length can be 12-16) into printed bosses; no heat-set inserts required.

— The board has no mounting holes on the real part, so it isn't screwed down: it registers against a shoulder on the plate and is held in by a separate printed retainer plank that jams between two bosses on the plate and the closed lid — no fasteners of its own — pressing the board's underside against preload dimples so nothing rattles.

— Cutout over the full OLED module footprint (frame and corner screws, not just the glass), with a bevelled edge.

— Octagonal-profile base (chamfered long bottom edges) trims the dead corners around the round cell without touching clearance, and takes weight and material off without weakening the tub.

What it does not include

— No battery holder clips or spring contacts — wire the cell to the board's battery connector yourself.

— No power switch — use the board's own power path or add one externally;

Files

Generated STL/STEP for the base, plate, retainer plank, and button bridge. The case was generated with CadQuery with heavy assistance in writing code by AI (thus, this model is marked so).
